I have 2 angelfish about the size of a quarter. I would like to know what variety they are. One looks a little like a smokey leopard and the other looks like a a black angel with silverish sides with black oval spots on the sides. I'm 13 years old and this will be my first attempt to get a breeding pair. I would like you to do a complete guess on what they are. Like external features such as the rounded crown or the more upright dorsal fins. There is a 50% chance.

I'm only 13 too. I say you have a 50% chance of a male and female, but you may have a little bit of chance they will pair if they are both male and female. Best way is get 6, let'em pair as they age, and either seperate pairs and singles among tanks(like a pair per tank and singles in thier own with tetras)or, rehome others.

You have failed to answer the main question. What are the [Mod Edit] varieties?!? And also you didn't even take a guess on the genders. "Thanks" man. Sorry if I'm being rude. My friend really [Mod Edit] me off today.

your guess is better than any we'll be able to make. get yourself better pictures of the fish and head over to an angelfish-specific forum and ask there. even better, go to the angelfish society website and send them an email:
http://www.theangelfishsociety.org/phenotype_library_2007/
scroll down to Request and send them an email with the new pictures and they'll help you out.

but sticking two fish together will not guarantee you a pair. good luck :good:
