Maybe an altum x scalare.
What did you buy them as?

There are altums from a lot of areas and most of them vary a bit so they could be pure altums. Normally if you are getting wild caught fish or fish that are only a few generations captive bred, they come with a river name (eg: Pterophyllum altum Rio Oronoco).

I didn’t buy than as anything in particular, got them from a local breeder as I liked the look of them didn’t ask at the time but was just inquisitive

Probably Pterophyllum scalare if you got them from a local breeder and they didn't cost a lot (altums cost a lot more than scalare). They are nice shaped fish though and look to be much better quality than the stuff coming out of Asian fish farms.

Can you call the breeder and ask what they bought them as?

There are not many people on the planet who can breed Altums. The odds are they are not Altums.

Up until about 2 months ago I kept Altums. I sold mine. They were bred by gent in Las Vegas whom I know only because we have exchanged emails. I knew him originally from the wild angel site which no longer exists. He actually contacted me for help with breeding his zebra plecos which I had been doing for years. This amazed me as in my wildest dreams I could not imagine my being able to breed altums.

There is a P. scalare from Peru that bears a similarlity to the true ALtum. They have become referred to as Peruvian Altums.

Here is a vid on the difference between Peruvian and true Altums. Note in your pics there is the black spot referred to in the vid.
