Well my angels laid eggs a few days ago. I separated them from the rest of the tank with a divider. But my female was becoming hostile toward the male so he was put on the otherside of the divider as well. All is well though. Today they started to wiggle and my female moves them from leaf to leaf. But I was wondering when do I feed them and what do I feed them? I read newly hatched brine shrimp? Where do I get them and when do I start feeding? Is there an alternative food source? I might have to leave the divider up in my community tank unless I put them in a small breeder box. I have a 20 gal but I have an aggressive fish in there that would love to eat them so I can't put them in a separate tank. Any suggestions? ^_^

I've tried everything besides bbs, nothing works as well. Without it you have a 10% survival rate if you are lucky. Start feeding the day they start swimming, once you see the yolk sack start to shrink at the end of the day. Building a bbs hatchery is easy, 2 liter bottle, air pump & line, salt, baking soda, and artemia cysts. You need a light source that provides heat as well, and an enclosure to keep the temperature at 80F. You could practically build one from junk you find on the street.

I get my bbs from Brine Shrimp Direct; http://www.brineshrimpdirect.com/ I'm sitting on about 2 1/2 pounds right now, and I see you are from Chicago. I'm on the sw side, Evergreen Park. I pay $22 per pound last time I bought them, I'll sell some for my cost if you need any quantity, or give you a couple of ounces to get you started.

Hmm, Evergreen Park is far from me >: And I don't drive. Maybe I can find some around near me... But thanks ^__^ Hmm, if they do survive, will it be ok to keep them in my community tank but separated from the rest of my fish? And how much bbs do you think I'd need? I don't see lots of wigglers, maybe 20 or so. First time my angels succeeded and the male didn't eat the eggs. I don't expect many, if any, to live. Although it would be great :3 If I do find those cysts, I'll try making a hatchery :3 Oh, also is it rare for my female to be caring for her young? I've read people prefer to take out the eggs because they tend to get eaten.

Congrats on yours too, they are cute :) I only have about 15-20 wrigglers I can see, some might have fallen in the gravel. They have eyes now :3 I can't wait till they start swimming. I made a brine shrimp hatchery so hopefully the fry will survive get some nice food.

On another note, I went to Petsmart today to buy a filter and flake food. I always look at the fish there. I saw 5 small dead angelfish in a fishtank, it made me sad :<

Yeah you can let me know how they get on.. :D My three fry are like little pigs now thats them eating adult food..
I know what you mean about seeing dead fish in the petshop it makes me sooo mad
