The other day I came home from school I noticed my fish had a cloudy eye. When I asked the guys at the pet shop whether to treat him or not and he said leave him, dont stress the other fish. Than my uncle (Who knows fish very well, kept fish for about 20 years) told me its a fungus. So I changed the water, and added fungus cure (10 gallon tank). The angel is acting fine, eating well and swimming well. It also looked like he had fin rot (His top fin had chunks missing) but its all healed now. So I have treatment in and the carbon out. How long do I continue the treatment and any idea what causes cloudy eye??

Normally, to be sure that the meds have taken their full effect, you would treat for about 10-14 days.....seems like a lot but you want to be sure!

 When one of my fish got fungas i was toled to treat it for 10 days but I guess a little longer can't hurt..Good luck with the fish!

Thanks! I hope my angel gets better, he is such a great fish

And to Fishy, I couldn't help but notice your age (I checked your profile). I am glad someone else here is young fish hobbiest too (I am 14)! So many people here are like 20+ years, and are like fish masters. I have a ten gallon tank too, and its been set up for about 4 months, and I also LOVE platies! :fun:

Usually cloudy eye is related to poor water quality. Have you got any problems in your tank like ammonia, nitrite or high nitrates?

Yes it does sound like poor water did it...how often do you do water changes? And what are your water parameters (i.e ammonia, nitire and nitrates?)
