I purchased 3 angel fish a long time ago as babies and had a faint hope that a pair would appear,i know they say to get 6 etc for best chances but i didn't want 6 at the time and thought i'd risk it.After quite a while i gave up hoping i had a pair and thought from gut feeling i had 3 females.
They have happily lived together all the time i've had them until 3 weeks ago when all of a sudden 2 started beating the be #93### out of the other.A day or 2 later they laid eggs in the community tank and despite their efforts the eggs were eaten by the odd angel and others so i was unable to see if they were fertile or not.
Saturday they laid a fresh batch on the inlet pipe for the filter so i took my chance and set up a tank in the garage and as risky as i knew it was i removed the pipe and the pair and placed them in the new aquarium.Alot went white and deep down i knew they would due to the move etc but i was holding out to just get 1 wiggler from the batch as proof they are male and female.Just returned from work and checked the tank and there are indeed a few wigglers, not many but at least there's a few.Parents seem to be tending their eggs despite the move,i honestly didn't think they would.

sounds like good parents! ...im still trying to work out who the parents are for mine..

congratulations! I got two angelfish two years ago and they were babies, i never thought about the chance of breeding, but came home today to find her spawning and the daddy doing his business, and guarding them! Im really excited and hope they do not eat them!! Lol :D how long does it take for them to hatch?! :)

i think its about 4/5days, but at first they dont need to eat until their egg sack is gone. best food is live baby brine shrimp, which take about 24/48hrs to hatch... need to get some brine shrimp eggs, salt water, lamp etc...plenty of articales how to do it. If not time for this maybe liquifry for fry product, but i think live brine shrimp is what most feed them. Have you got a nother tank to move the other fish out, they may get battered by the parents.

congratulations!
