I had an angel take rather bad fin damage last thursday, all seems to be healing well with melafix. Only problem is its still not eating.

Flake - usually eats fine - doesnt even look at

Granules - Like better than flake - doesnt even look at

Frozen Bloodworm - Usually at within 1/2 second of it hitting the water Shows intrest but wont eat

In the hope of it feeding I released some 2 week old guppy baby's out of the breeding net, no luck (thought I'd try this as it spent a good amount of time watching through the net)

Only thing I havnt been able to try with it is brineshrimp

Help PLease

How long has it not been eating, and how big is it? If it doesn't eat for a few days in a row, and especially if it hides towards the bottom, kind if facing the back, I would suspect hex, and treat it with metronodazole.

I've got 4 being treated right now, just started yesterday. 400 mg. metro daily in a 10 gallon tank, with daily 50% water changes. Temp is at 90F, you have to make sure you have plenty of aeration at that temp, warm water holds less O2. Starting tomorrow, I'll start feeding a little brine shrimp with metro sprinkled on it. They probably won't eat it for a few more days, once they even start to mouth it & spit it out, they are on the road to recovery.

It usually takes a couple of weeks of meds & water changes, I've saved quite a few this way, one is the female of a breeding pair.

A full grown angel can go for at least a week without eating. If it isn't eating for a week, then treat it. It may be feeling a little under the weather from it's recent mauling, so I would give it some more time before medicating.
