angel has pop eye !

The title says it all really am off to the shop in a bit and wondered what is the best suff to get him.. He is a lovely fish and a great looking fish too please help me help him

Pop-eye

Caused by: bacterial infection, parasite infestation, metabolic disorders, and poor water quality.

Symptoms: one or both eyes swell and project from the head. In severe cases, the eye can burst from the socket.

Occurrences: Pop-eye typically affects only one or two fish in an aquarium, and is not considered to be infectious.

Treatment/Control: affected fish can be treated with MelaFix or PimaFix.

Tetracycline Tablets, i used it on a betta with popeye and it was cleared up in 3 days time

I used aquarium salt on my betta and it fixed him but..

We have tried melafix to no avail ! shall try salt next He is showing no signs of recovery on melafix.

My ember came up with popeye 3 days ago, all I did was 2 water changes and its all ok now Then again, I know mine was caused by small sand particles floating around seeing as I just added more sand and the water was still cloudy.

test your tap water, treat your tap water and carry out a series of water changes asap - I had the same problem

I too used MelaFix just in case. fish survived - but you must act fast
