Angel Fish

Ammonia 0 since 7-26-04
Nitrite 0 Since 8-8-24
PH 7.4 since 7-26-04
Nitrate 20 - Been between 15 and 30 since it was detectable

I went out 8-14-04 and added 2 angel fish to my tank. A Marble as well as a Koi. All seemed fine for the first day or so then I notice my 2 Gold Barbs were picking on the Koi. So I moved him into another tank that had 5 Black Neon Tetras. Well he was beating up had a lot of fin damage. he died 2 days ago.

Now I come home from work tonight and my Marble has died. The fins were perfect and no signs of being picked on.

Can anyone come up with any reason these fish could of died. All the other tank mates 2 gold barbs as well as 2 Zebra's are doing fine. Do you think I just ended up with BAD fish? Will be setting up a Quarantine tank this weekend. Should of done it from the start, but didn't. Any incite would be great.

It seems you may have just gotten some sick fish. If possible contact some local breeders to get new angels. They are always healthier and of higher quality then most LFS carry.

There is a disease called Angel fish disease, but i'm not sure of the symptoms. Maybe your deaths were due to something internal (like a parasite) as well as stress from their environment?
