I have a trigon 190 bow fronted corner aquarium. We have in it 2 small shoals of neons and rummynose tetra, and six gourami (blue, golden, pearl, 2xkissers and a dwarf), 3 Otos and 8 danios. Would love some more colour in the tank (the gouramis cluster together quietly while only the kissers show themselves.

Water quality is very good, while the communities seem very balanced at present, largely due to the planting in the tank.
Could we have 2 angels? I have heard they eat neons when big? If we rehomed our tetra in a separate tank could we??

Any ideas on stocking ideas or angel fish dos and donts in thus instance greatly appreciated :)

They will definitely end up eating any small fish. What dimensions are your tank?

not completely true. They CAN eat small fish, but some will not. I keep 6 angels with 25 neon without a problem. But it is a risk to mix them.

With regards to the OPs question - how tall is the tank? You are looking at a MINIMUM of a 20" water coloumn (not overall tank height) to accomodate their adult size.

If you want to keep 2, you'd need to buy a mated pair. Placing two random angesl in there may well mean that one becomes dominate and bullies the other, possibly to death.

The Kissing Gouramis will eat all the smaller fish long before the Angels do, I had a 12" Kissing Gourami that took down a 9" Gold Severum and kill tiger barbs.

Yeah the kissers are not appropriate for that size thank. Rehome those and get some angel fish. Get them small and they may not eat the neons. I have a bonded pair of angels that are not interested in my neons. But, as always with cichlids, you could get some aggressive fish and then your neons become lunch.

+1 and not even with smaller fish. I was put under the impression that Jewels and Green Terrors were compatible. They were the same size but that Jewel almost ate the GT for lunch. I took the GT back to the LFS before any damage was done thank goodness lol. The Jewel is an evil little critter....but I love her.
