Angel Fish Maturity

Hello all i need to pick your brains if i may

I have an angel fish in my 40 litre tank but i have been advised i will need a bigger tank

I am not very pleased with the aquatics shop who sold me the fish in the first place but that is another story

I am!! planning on buying a larger tank when i can, my angel fish is currently about 1 1/2", how long will it be untill it reaches full size

I have read they could!! reach 6" but often dont

If all you have in the 40 liter tank, is the angel, then it will be fine for well over a year. If you have other fish in with it, which I suspect, then you will have problems sooner rather than later.

As for reaching 6"+, most angels will reach well over 4" (body length, not including the tail), only if given space and a good diet will they reach there full size. The main problem with size, is not the length, but their hight. A 4" long fish can be over 10" tall, so deep tanks are needed, for the fish to look their best.

I do have other fish in my tank

2 prestilla tetra
2 Pentazona barb
1 sucker mouth catfish (small species)
1 betta

If i dont remove the angel before it reaches full size will it be detrimental to its health??

The aquarium that sold it to me told me it would be fine and the shop who sold me ny tank told me that i could have 2. I feel a bit let down to be honest

ps, i have read conflicting articles about my betta and angel, they have only been together a few days and dont seem to be at each others throats too much, again the aquatic shop told me they would be fine but since i joined this forum i have read otherwise from some people

Im gettin a bit confussed by it all
