To all
I have a small angel fish in my tank and for the past couple of days i have been noticing that whenever i put flake foods on the surface, all my other fish finish it in minutes while the angelfish just watches them.Sometimes she tries to get the food but all these danios just go wild at the food and she retreats to the bootom and if eats a bit of flake food she just spits it out.
Is this because she needs a change in the kind of food?
Or is there a problem?

I know nothing about angel fish, but when my siamese fighting fish spit out his food it was because it was the wrong type. Then he ate his food fine when I found his real food. yeaa, I lost it at first. :*) tried feeding him the food I use with my mollies. oops! hope things improve. :/

Angel fish do not like fish that can out compete them for food. They will get very nervous and stressed out. This can lead to death by starvation or just death by stress.

Just a few questions.

Whats your water parameters?
Whats ur tank size?
what other fish do u have in it?

thanks

Josh

My tank is 20 gallons
fish are 2 gouramis some danios some scissortail rasbora
It never eats food put in but searches for it on the bottom afterwards.
Is it because i've been feeding the same dried flake for weeks now.
What food should i try(something relatively cheap in U.k.)

Frozen bloodworms-if they are frozen how will the fish eat them?

The frozen bloodworm comes in a packet (looks like little ice cubes but red). Pop them out of the packet and defrost (takes about 30 mins at room temp) then let them have it. The angels will love it

But if put them int he water all the other fish will eat it first!!
How many should i feed?
Should i remove all the other fish and let the angel eat on its own?

maybe live brine shrimp also.
a 20 gallon will be to small to keep an adult angel, in my opinion. I know people will argue with me on this but i think that angels should be kept in only something above a 30 gallon.

Have you noticed any agression from the gourmis. I have not had any luck keeping the 2 together in a tank. But thats just me.

Hope this helps.

Josh
