Hi,

I have a tropical tank setup including 2 adf's an angel fish (unknown sex) & betta fish (female) with a clown loach i have recently discoverd that my angel fish is losing its rear fins, i have occasionaly noticed that the clown loach chases the angels rear fins, non of the other fish bother the angel just woundering if anybody has had a similar problem and if this would stress my angel or lessen his actual capability?

thanks people

the tank is a 10 gallon but she dont bother with the angel as far as i no, will the angel be stressed or impaired?
thanks

the loach is only about an inch so i fort this would be fine, i only have about 6 inches worth of fish is this still to small ?

Thanks for the information

the problem is what they will grow to and how tall the angel will get.

well i suppose i have to get a new tank what size is recommended for the listed fish and maybe a few more?
thanks

minimum for the clown loach double what you have now, but you would need to get some more as they are a fish that like to be kept in groups, also you need plenty of hiding places for them, so think maybe 75g+, they are a fish that can reach maybe 12 inches but smaller in aquariums. If i am wrong please correct me.

As samberngert says, clown get to 12inch (10 is adverage in adiquate tanks) and need groups for security. I would however consider 75g as a minimum, due to the fact that they need to be in groups. A 20g tank won't support 72inhes of clown loach (recommended group size of 6 IMO) plus an angel. I would recomend say a 90g tank for your current fish, or a 100 if you want a few more.

I thought after posting that 20 would be a bit small, i've a 20g and would never think of putting a clown loach in. 75 minimum. I stand corrected.

thank you for the information i am looking for a 100 gallon tank but i am not finding anythink, anybody know any sites listing tanks this size?

thanks

These people are an kind of partner or sponsor of TFF:

http://www.windsor-aquatics.co.uk/ Not sure if they will give you a discount.

It's also worth having a look on classified ads sites like gumtree, preloved, loot, freeads, classified ads, to name a few, google these sites and you will get them.

http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/ these just do ads for aquarium and fish.

Maidenhead Aquatics do some good deals on tanks. There are loads of these all around the country, or just google fish tanks and you'll get loads of results.

Hope this helps :good:
