I was given two angel fish a year ago now.

Tonight, one of them appeared to be eating a leaf, and the next thing I looked over the egg was covered in clear eggs.

The other angel fish is not following behind her so I'm thinking a few things based on what I've read - I either have two females, the other one isn't mature, or they're not a pair.

The one laying eggs is being extremely aggressive toward the other one. These two fish have been fine together, they establish territories but don't really bicker.

What's the best way to remove the eggs? If I take the plant out and rinse it will the eggs come off in the water?

Is there a way for me to prevent this from occuring again? I need angel fish birth control of some sort, it seems.

I don't want to breed fish. Waaay too busy.

Is there anything else I should know about this happening?

Figures this would happen, I had just sat down to study for my college finals and am now kind of intrigued at the drama going on in my aquarium. Last year it was my mollies... I went to study, looked over and there were a bunch of tiny little fish swimming everywhere.

Rinse the eggs off, rearrange the decorations in the tank a little to remove territories.

You won't prevent it, but you can do something about not having fry.
