I have an Angel fish that is pretty much full grown. It's about 5 inches long and 6 inches high.

When I put new smaller fish in my tank he chases them around for about 5 minutes but he's pretty slow in comparison and soon gives up. Compatibility afterwards is no problem at all.

My question is, if I put a couple more small Angels in there will it cause problems? The larger Angel will no doubt be able to catch the smaller ones if he wants and maybe harm them.

Thanks!

Angels are cichlids and , as all cichlids are, territorial. If you really want to add more, your best bet is to rearrange the tank decor and/or rocks to create new territories. You can try this with the large angel in the tank or out. If the fish is taken out it for an hour or so, it may help increase your chances as the fish will believe it is going to a different home altogether.

Since he's full grown, I don't know that I would chance that one. Why not just let him be your centerpiece fish and if you want other fish get something different?

How large is the tank you want them to go into? If its large enough add several more large plants for hiding and you'll do fine.
