hi i got myself 2 clownfish and an anemone today along with some other corals, the anemone has curled up in a ball in the last 10 minuites, is that anything to worry about? also how long will it be untill the clownfish go to the anemone? thanks

Can you tell us how old has your tank been set up for; what are you water/tank statistics; what lighting do you have?

the tank has been running for about 1 month, all the tests are fine and its under a 150w giesemann. the tank is 350 litres and i have got 4000 lph running at the moment. everything else is fine. thanks

The lighting not sufficient. Even though it's a Giesemann, probably the best brand available, 150 watts is just too small. You'd need three or four of those on a tank your size.

The anemone is a Long Tentacle Anemone. I'm happy to say that it's present condition is nothing to be worried about :) They regularly "fold up into balls".

If it starts looking "rotty" and falls apart, then take him out immediatly, or he will decompose and "nuke" the tank  .

ok, it is starting to come out again now. would it be better to raise it heigher in the tank or do they have to be in sand?

I would leave him to pick his own spot. As long as he is under the light he will survive. Also, you probably know this already, but give him a dead prawn/fish every week to make sure he gets enough nourishment. :)

Remember that Long Tentacled Anemones will occasionally go in caves; may or may not be something to worry about.

the anemone seems fine now, when you say they like to find caves can they clim rocks and move along into a cave? because it looks like its trying to clime the rock to get into the cave

Those last pics look like a healthy LTA. It may wander for a little while until it finds a spot that it likes. Keep an eye on it to make sure but it looks healthy in those pictures, well done.

i have decided to take all my corals back, do you think i will get a refund with no problem?

Bloody LFS's - anything to save them a bit of hassle

Hopefully the rest of your stock is fine
