I have a atlantic nem that i purchased 2 weeks ago. I put it at the highest part of my tank, Because i only had T8s. For some strange reason it moved to a shadier position. It has stayed there for a week looking fine. I have recently mounted new lights to my tank. Twin MH with 4 T5s. The nem has not moved just deflated. Is this a worry or natrual.
Water params good as always. The only other difference is i have a new skimmer. The old skimmer was only just big enough, but the new skimmer is a V2 600 which could skim a tank almost twice the size.
If you could give me a few reasons for nem deflation it would help to ID a problem. thanks

i dont know much bout nems. some possiblities: not enough food, shock from new lighting. i cnat think of any else right now.

Deflation is a natural thing as they do this to expel waste materials. HOwever, as this happened after the introduction of the new lights then i would suggest its a shock to the new lighting. Condys prefer lower light levels when compared to their more tropical cousins so it might just be a little upset at the new lighting. Monitor it closely though and watch for any further signs of deterioration.
