Well, iv been admiring other users tanks for ages now, and have finally built up the courage to post pics of my own!

Little bit of info:

Started the tank late Feb this year, used to be a freshwater tank so needed a few mods before i could call it a reef tank, this included:

Replacing the stock pump for a Maxijet 1200
Replacing the spray bar outlet for a powerhead 'head'
Upgrading the lighting to 2 x dual 18w T5 power compacts (both 50/50)
Removing the 'feeding hatch' to prevent overheating
Removing all sponges and bio balls, replacing with live rock rubble in a bag (vaccumed weekly), Purigen and RowaPhos bags

The tank is invert only, when i decided that the sixline wrass that i had wasnt happy in such a small space (after joining this forum). Currently in the tank:

Blood Shrimp
Mithrax Crab (not green, but sand coloured)
Red Leg Hermits
Blue Leg Hermits
Trochus Snails
Turbo Snails

Soft Corals:

Green Zoo's
Pink/Yellow Zoo's
Xenia
Purple Clove Polyps (reeeally fast growers)
Star Polyps

LPS:

Green/Pink Closed Brain
Trumpet Coral

Recently moved a lot of rocks around (to get the sixline out) and as a result a lot of my coralline is hidden, which sucks. I tried to aquascape so maintenance is easy, while still providing lots of space for corals.

you have no need to be shy about posting pics, they are great pictures and i think your set up looks very good :)

Looks good.

I agree it's too small for the six line (the tank looks about 10G to me... ***EDIT*** just seen it says 10G in the topic title! :X ), mine's very active and territorial and I think my 24G is pushing it size wise!

You said that the clove polyps are fast growers, well so is the xenia and the green star polyps, i'd just be a bit carefull of how much to let them all grow as they could easily fill the tank between them.

Any plans for more coral / fish?

Love the trumpet coral

I applaud your being humane to the sixline. Is that a brain on the substrate...it looks pretty ill if it is. Any more pix of it? SH

Yep, why would you say it looks ill? I havent got any more pics but have seen its tentacles out at night, though one half looks healthier than normal. Thanks for the comments btw guys.

It most certainly is a brain coral. This specific species is actually all over my local club and as you've noted SH, looks a little different than most. The skin is very tight against the skeleton in contrast to most other members of the Favites genus.

In the picture you showed, it looks like the flesh of the coral is tight against the skeleton which shouldn't be visible. In the post above, you can't see the skeleton. Here is a pic of my brain:

If the tentacles are out, it is probably healthy. You shouldn't see the corallite. SH

PS...try and reduce the size of your photos. Most should do fine at 500pixels. SH
