Sorry, if this is in the wrong area please accept my apologies as I wasn't sure where to post this. This is a picture of a strange looking bug I discovered in my shrimp-only tank, and it looks as if there might be tons of little mini-versions of this bug crawling around on my driftwood and sand substrate. Does anyone know if this is an amphopod? And, will putting a shrimp-friendly fish in there help to get rid of it? I considered the option of taking out all shrimp and just cleaning out my tank and putting hot water in there, but then, I was worried I might kill some baby shrimp accidentally! So what is the best way to go about this? They are grossing me out.

Looks like a cadis fly larvea, they are micro predators that will eat small fish so its best to remove it.

Okay so it looks like this is definitely a dragonfly nymph (I posted on some other forums and several people have ID'd it as that), and it is a voracious predator that can eat my shrimp and small fish. So, seeing as how I'm not sure what the rest of the little things darting around in my tank is, I'm going to use the wait and see approach and take out the bugs when they get larger. The one pictured is already dead...
