while i fished my Tetras out for euthanasia earlier today, i noticed Donny, the Betta infected with PopEye, had started twirling around. he couldn't control the pectoral on the infected side, all the scales had pineconed on his face and squased his lips and fin up.

so... i fished him out, added him to the Tetras, and today Donny was put down.

g'bye tough-guy, hope you find Mack and V up there...

-nod- yep, my male Neon (with NTD) and the larger female (who was floating nose-up and twitching the same way he was) were both put down.

Yes fish see you as a god so as a god you should euthanise them when there is no hope...your fish will appreciate you for this However i never euthanise my fish, i buy them some livefood to end their life happily in a nice hospital tank

really, Nymph? i always pictured miles of divided tank with each Betta having his own little 10g portion, and whenever the mood hits fishie just jumps up out of the water and floats away to the Bloodworm Buffet

and Kossy, i'd probably do that, i just don't have the heart to kill a poor helpless animal, but i 1) lack a decent hospital tank (Pierce's tank will be rehauled after i get him his Starfish/Explorer) and 2) can't get my fins on live food.

Wouldn't a bowl do as a hospital/quarantine pen? Ewww! Live food? How about just frozen (not freeze-dried) bloodworms? B)

I feel so sorry for all of you who are losing fish. I know how hard that is. All my goldfish are dying and I can't seem to help them. When there is no longer any hope, I put them down........so sad.
