Hi,

I have recently placed an ancistrus into one of my tanks, which contains my bichir (don't worry the bichir isn't any where near big enough to eat her, yet :p )

but I had noticed a lot of poo on the tank bottom, and I wondered where it was all coming from, and after reading a recent post on here about sail fins, I hadn't thought it might be the plec.

Its insane the amount it produces  on a daily basis, lol, I've been vaccing nearly every day, or every other.

Also I have been feeding the bichir and other tank mates frozen blood worms and frozen prawns, the ancistrus also enjoys eating the prawns. Is this ok for it? as I thought they were herbivores, not omnivores?

I know nothing about birchirs, but I know for a fact ancistrus produce an amazing amount of poo ! They are real piggies and poop machines

Edit: they are most certainly omnivores and will have a go at almost anything you place in the tank.

aye it seems so, its funny to watch her, she latches onto the top of the prawn piece and rolls up and down the tank on it like some sort of circus act running on a ball. :D
