We're looking for a bristlenose plec, and not having much luck. There's plenty of shops around me selling L-number plecs, but none seem to be nice enough to sell adult bristlenose plecs.

Today we came accross "Ancistrus sp. Xenocara" as they were labelled as. Planetcatfish comes up with absolutely nothing, google comes up with bristlenose catfish ... however, I'm not sure. The plecs in question had bristles that split into 2 at the end, I've never seen this on a bristlenose plec myself. So now I'm confused :p

Can anyone help me out here? Don't wanna end up with a plec too big for the 15G :)

WE bought two who were sold as Xenocara a while ago. They seem to be exhibiting standard BN growth but have onl had them for around 7-8 months so cannot comment on whether they will top out at 6" or not. (currently around 3-4).

They currently inhabit the Dwarf Puffer tank

Sorry I couldn't help more, but I would be really interested to see any more info.

The dwarf puffer tank is what I need it for too ;) I really don't want a plec that will outgrow the 15G though, seeing as it will already be fun housing my common and sailfin plec when they get a bit bigger. Thanks for the input though! :D

Any more information on them is welcome ofcourse
