Fishaholic
So I haven't been active at all for a while. For one, I have been active at 2 of my LRC's. Secondly, I got a job at one of the best fish stores in Georgia/Southeast. Thirdly, I just graduated from high school. I have had the tank set-up since March 2nd or 3rd of this year. Pretty barren at the beginning, added two Allardi's Clownfish after 2 weeks, the cycle finished before the first week was up. And I know I added fish too many too fast, the clownfish would have been fine if I were to leave them for about a month, but a few weeks later I picked up a Bicolor Blenny, then a few weeks after that I picked up a purple firefish, and a week or so later, I got a Wheelers Goby.
Needless to say, it was a disaster waiting to happen, ich kicked in, first on the Purple Firefish, then the clowns, then the blenny and lastly and ironically the goby was last. I lost 5 fish in 3 days, not a fun time for a beginner, I wanted to pack it all up and get out, or maybe just set-up a huge tank (300 gallons), but was talked out of it by a good friend of mine. So I fought through the dying of the fish, and just started to add stuff, corals and invertebrates.
I was originally going to do hyposalinity on the tank, but I didn't want to shock the fish too much, so I lowered it to a point where the inverts were still safe. After about a week or two, the fish started dying.
Then the corals started to really take off. I feed DT's 3 times a week. With mysis feedings 1-2 times per week, I hand feed the brain and the candy canes.
But here are the pictures, from the start to now...
There are more pictures between then and what is coming up, but they are saved on my computer and don't feel like uploading them.
This is a fishless tank, after the ich outbreak, I have left the tank empty for one month, and plan on doing so another 2 weeks. Then I plan on getting at least 2 Flasher Wrasses, one being male and one being female, I may get a third, and then another Purple Firefish, but I don't know, I want something very colorful, but something without a very high risk of jumping. Any suggestions?
Here are the current ones, just taken yesterday.
