Just wondering, is it normal for betta fin tips to kinda fray/comb-like/tassely if they grow too long plus my betta is really ancient like 3 years and 2 months old.

Or am i doing something wrong coz i'm too complacent with his care now?

Thanks! :)

I -think- most bettas fins stop growing at some point except for veiltails? What kind do you have? I'm not sure if it's normal as I've only had my betta a year. Can you post a picture?

Is there anything in the tank that could be causing the damage? Any sign of inflamed skin? Could he be rubbing up against something that could be tearing his fins?

@mariah: oh, i'm so stupid. I didn't knew that all the so-called "normal" bettas sold here are generally veiltails. @___@

Not my pic but this is like an identical twin for my betta. Only fatter

Now i know lol.

You're not stupid  Hope his tail is fine. I would check to make sure he's not being hurt by anything in the tank though like Mamashack said.

His tank is bare save for some big pebbles on the bottom. Haha after all this time. Hays hahaha
