Hi I’m using gravel but I did was put some plants in and they died straight away but that’s all cleaned up and I’ve put some knew live plants in .every thing was fine until I put these plants in that died straight away that’s when the ammonia levels risen so could that have it
The only reason I ask is that some of the flashy substrates will leach ammonia into the tank for a period of time. @Neleono questions will find what the problem isHi I’m using gravel but I did was put some plants in and they died straight away but that’s all cleaned up and I’ve put some knew live plants in
Yea I cleaned them there called something dense I only pu 5 strands in and some Xmas mossIn addition to those questions, what plants did you add? Did you clean them before you put them in?
Elodea densa, also called anacharis. That can be planted in the substrate or left to float.there called something dense
And I’ve already got Marino moss balls in 6 of them it’s a 70 l tankYea I cleaned them there called something dense I only pu 5 strands in and some Xmas moss
How high is the ammonia?
Is there any ammonia in your tap water?
I’ll send u pic okIf it’s only like .25ppm. It may be ammonium instead of ammonia which isn’t as toxic. Do you know if they use chloramine or chlorine in your tap water? You can find out from your city water utilities. If it’s chloramine that they use it is probably ammonium showing up.
