Amiracle Wet/dry Under Tank Filter

I get the idea of this. It will be used with an overflow box. My question is what happens if the power goes out? Does the syphon continue and it overflows and floods or what?

Yep, the syphon would continue unless you use an overflow box that has an anti syphon like the tunze

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have an anti syphon thing but it is running off of an overflow box so it will only syphon out until the overflow is empty and no longer taking on water?

My thoughts is to place the 20gallon wet/dry system inside a 29 gallon tall aquarium so if the power does go it will catch the overflow in the 29 tank. That would work wouldn't it?
