Didn't notice sunlight was reflecting off wall into tank at certain times of the day after I moved it, so now have problem with hair algae. Will hair algae treament harm the shrimp. Says it will not harm fish, but he's not one is he?

What is hair algae treatment? Does it work?

Sorry I got carried away and forgot to respond to your question. Shrimp aren't fish. Lots of medications, for example, will harm invertebrates but not fish.
What are the active ingredients?

It is supposed to kill hair algae and I've never used it before.

There is nothing on the product. I guess calling the manufacturer is required.

I don't know what kind of setup you have or how bad your algae problem is, but honestly to get rid of the algae I would just let the shrimp eat it! They should be taking care of it, and if they're not, get some more and put them in there. They love algae and a tank full of it would be a feast for them!

Using an algae removal chemical will only temporarily fix the problem. Since your problem seems to be the extra light, it will keep coming back as long as the light is there. I still vote for just leave it be. Scrape the front glass and let the shrimp eat the rest.
