any tips on how to keep them alive?

You'll find a very detailed guide. It's not easy though, and you will need a seperate tank

it can be done but it's quite hard from what I've read. Eggs have to be hatched in a tank with fairly high salinity and then slowly changed over to fresh water.

The worst parts in my opinion are feeding the zoes phytoplankton and all the water changes you have to do, if you miss one the its a disaster .
