Does anyone know how long baby amano shrimp take to grow to an adult? Reason I'm asking is I have spotted smaller than average amano shrimp in my tank that I can't remember having at that size. But they aren't that small to make me think they are definitely babies. But I'm not sure.........
My tank is heavily planted with lots of hiding places but I would have thought I had too many fish for babies to survive. Any thoughts on the matter appreciated.

I should have 5 adults in there but due to all the plants in there I can never count them all at one time.

Baby Amano shrimp are hard to raise, and need to go from fresh water to brackish to salt water and back to fresh water

Yeah I thought it was complicated to try and breed them. Oh dear my memory must be pretty bad then.

Could it be a male shrimp that you saw? My male Amano stays smallish (a little over 1") even though I've had him for about 10 months.

Yeah a lot of people have the same problem as you and start to claim they 'raised babies in a freshwater tank' which is impossible. You are probably just seeing a male which are smaller than female Amanos ;)
