Although my tank is not yet ready for them, I hope to get some Amano shrimps in a few weeks. What sort of habitat do they like? I have a planted tank that has one bushy frondy plant, a mossy log and several longer leaved plants that are not bushy. I have some driftwood which has a sort of hollow underneath as a hiding place, and a little dome thing with gaps in that's sort of like a small cave. The tank has a small gravel substrate on top. Do you think the shrimps will be happy in that environment? Do they like to hide in caves/among plant fronds or are they more commonly scooting around in open areas? At the moment only some tiny black phantom tetras are living in the tank.

I don't have amanos, but my cherries & orange shrimp love any moss, I have java & willow, they're always on it.
They need somewhere to hide when they've moulted, so a cave or some hidey holes in the wood are needed
