Hello everyone,

I have a quick question. I'm cycling my 20gal tall tank at the moment and I plan to eventually stock it with a Dwarf Gourami and 7-9 Neon Tetras or Cardinal Tetras (havent decided which yet). I would like to also add some Amano Shrimp to be my cleaning crew but I was wondering how many I could have without overstocking?

Thanks for your time

I think you could have quite a few as they don't appear to add to the bio-load and as you say clean up the leftovers. They seem to be constantly munching and produce very little waste in comparison to fish.
I have 3 amano in my 30L and 4 amano and 5 sakura fire shrimp in my 60L.

+1

Also, get the cardinals. They are hardier than neons. In fact I have read that they don't do well in a new tank. I think cardinals are prettier too.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm gonna get 4 Amanos and I've decided to go with cardinals

+1 for cardinals being much nicer looking than neons.  Sometimes more expensive tho.

Also +1 for shrimp having very little bioload.  I wouldn't worry about it too much.
