In the corners of my tank I have a light brown algae growing in patches and the rocks are growing green algae. I also have the same type of light brown algae in the sand. Should I add the clean-up crew? I've only had the LR in there for one week and it's progress seems to be quick, considering that the rock was cured for 3-4 months at the lfs. I'm taking my damsels out today and I want to add the cleaner shrimp. LMK. Thanks!

Add the crew, it should be 1 hermit/snail per gallon of water.

They should have been the 1st thing in the tank even before fish IMO.

Just to add...

What you are now seeing is the diatomstage and its completely natural. The Diatoms will eat the silicates in the water (which every new tank has) . Once this is done they will die off and make way for a new growth to take place.. usually (but not always) followed by cyano
