Hey guys, would you say that my Juwel vision 450 (100gallons) is overfiltered?

I am running:

1 X Eheim 2080 1700l/h
1 X Eheim 2078 1850l/h
1 X Juwel Jumbo 1000l/h
1 X Fluval 4+ 1000l/h

Total l/h = 5550l/h
Tank volume 450l
Turnover = 12.3 times per hour

Plus i am running a Vecton V2 600 on the 2078.?

What you guys think? How many times turnover do you have?

no such thing as over-filtering. you can have too much flow though.

are any of the fish you have from natural habitats with slow moving water? are any of them showing signs of struggling to swim or pinned to the side of the glass? If not then no you're fine as you are!! :good:

whilst it is overkill, i dont believe it is a problem, more over, i dont believe you can over filter a tank anyway.

also, it is unlikely you are filtering the amount you actually think, with eheims i think you find their actually output is a lot less than stated in their spec. Also, depending on what you have in your filter, can also reduce the rate.

regardless of all that, you should have quite a clean looking tank, although i have to ask, why put so many on that tank?

i went overkill on my tank, and the filters i have cycle around 7000/ltrs an hour 'minimum' but then again my tank is nearly 1000ltrs.

i would have thought the only problem may be the water current strength as stated by Miss Wiggle. there will only ever be enough bacteria to process the waste that your tank produces, however many filters you have.
