It's a 12 gallon tank currently stocked with 1 Crowntail Betta (about 1.5 inches, minus tail), 5 x Neon Tetras (about 1 inch each), 1 High Fin Platy (about 1.5 inches) and 9-12 Glass Shrimp.

The confusing part for me is how the Glass Shrimp factor in.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Shrimp don't add much to the bioload at all. I'd be more worried about the betta reacting with the high fin platy, honestly. If it was my tank, I'd rehome the platy and get a few more neons.

They've been together for a few days now without any incident at all. They investigated one another a time or two initially but have since promptly ignored each other.

The Betta seems very casual overall, I guess, as he's not bothered the shrimp either. Even the small ones.

Wouldn't risk it, still. A couple days isn't much time. I popped in a convict a while back with my tiger barbs. And she was pretty casual about them for a while, a little bit of "checking out" but a couple weeks later, she was going after their school like it was World War 3, pulling them on their tail fins and trying to bite their eyes out.

Bettas can be a bit unpredictable. They can be timid and impartial, but they can put the "fight" in "fighting fish" And IMO, they shouldn't be kept with anything with long fins. I agree with getting more neons and taking the platy back.
