Hi

I have a 64L planted community tank that's been running for about 3 years.

I've used an Interpet CF2 filter since the start but the type I use has been phased out. The new type - called a Bio CF2 - doesn't seem very environmentally friendly (throw away filter pads) and will be more expensive to run I think.

So I'm looking for an alternative.

It has to be very quiet (the CF2 is just about silent) as the tank is in the living room. I'd like to be able to transfer some of my existing filter media to avoid having to cycle the new set up.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I have used two internal Nicrew filters off Amazon and had no major audible issues as the tank I used them on is in a bedroom. I heard that the Aqueal filters are pretty decent too from a friend. You could even try a external filter aswell. Theres a few options that cater towards smaller tanks. Might be on the pricier side however.

Thanks! I'll check them out.
