Almost bought a betta home today

I went to Petsmart today to do some price comparison's with Petco. I was looking at the bettas and found a dark blue one...really, really, really, really good looking fish. I picked him up, he didn't back away like I've seen others do, in fact he kept following my finger after a few minutes the little guy was making bubble nests I would have brought the little show off home, but the tank isn't done cycling yet. It was really tempting though!!!

well, why not take him home? my Betta survived and helped cycle a ten gallon tank with the Kuhliis, i'm pretty sure a little boy in a 2.5 gallon won't DIE a horrid death from ammonia poisoning.

yeah, go back and get him!!!!!! i took the chance putting mine in uncycled tanks and used the "betta water conditioner" they gave me. all three are doing great. i've been looking for a royal blue one, so go get him before i drive over to cali and get him myself!!!!

Yeah, you shoulda bought him home. Someone else might pick him up now. Don't worry about survival. My bettas are still alive in their 1/2 gallon bowls after day 3 - it's a miracle!

Honestly, I'd rather wait until the tank is done cycling...save the fish the uneeded stress. That is the point of fishless cycling anyways

I also found a realy good looking one myself yesterday in my local Petsmart, i've never seen such big fins like I did on this one . But I wasn't able to buy him because I didn't have any money with me . I'm going tommorrow first thing but I only hope no one noticed him and bought him . Wish me luck

How much do bettas cost at your LFS?

I returned to the Petsmart today And found that realy awsome looking Betta (red) I was so happy that he was still there and I also found another one with even bigger fins (blue) So I chose to buy both of them There both gorgeous together. They only cost me 3.50 each, they were worth it. So now i'm planning on getting a female and breeding them.
