Hi, the internal filter on my brothers Juwel Lido 120 has broken (the pump has stopped working), and I think it would be a good idea to take this opportunity to upgrade the filter. I've read that the Juwel internal filters aren't great anyway (which may be why it has broken), and they are rather bulky. I have found the all pond solutions 1000ef filter, which is at the top of the budget (my brother doesn't want to spend much more than it'd cost for a replacement pump [£35]) for the Juwel filter. I've read good things about the all pond solutions filters, but what do you think about them? Are they better than the Juwel filters?

Also, they are out of shock on the all pond solutions website, is there anywhere else that they can be bought from (other than ebay)?

cheers :good:

Personally I wouldn't. Yes they do the job but I found it really badly made but maybe it was just the one I had was a bad batch as other members really like them

A great filter, i'm using one on my 190ltr, its silent, remains to have good flow and has 8ltr space for media. For the price i can't see why you wouldn't go for an APS.

btw, they are just renamed Sunsun filters.

cheers for the replies. Could you post a link to the new website if they have one, or a link to the product please Ian?

Cheers :good:

the sunsun filters are just imported from China, the only other place i have seen them is ebay...

+1

I have 2 of these in my 240l and couldn't fault them at all. Very good product and brilliant service at a superb price.

My 1000EF is badly made, and is nothing like silent, it makes a right racket!

I wouldn't advise it to somebody who was looking to upgrade to a better filter, but if your budget is <£50, you won't find anything better, or probably even at all.
