I’m new to this site, and kinda-sortta new (6 months now) to fish keeping.
I plan on getting a really good - and expensive! - RO/DI filtration unit. I think I saw one that had a 5 step, but I know there’s plenty of 4 step units to get.
Anyhoo... since I’m going to be using pure(ish) water, I know that it’ll lack a lot of important electrolytes for fish. The whole reason I want to purify my water, is I don’t like using chemicals. I wonder if there’s a stress/slime coat formula that’s all-natural. I know a lot of the retail products have aloe vera in them. But there’s also a bunch of chemicals too, and of course all done with those long scientific words.
Maybe even a home-made recipe I could do? Aloe-vera (I’d be using gel from an actual plant! Fanatic? You betcha *g*) and maybe a bit of aquarium salt. I have no idea what else should be in it, though.
