My Bettas suddenly spawned this weekend and I had nothing to feed them with apart from dry flake baby mix, which they won't touch, so Now I have 200 dead Betta fry in my tank through starvation. Great. So I've ordered some microworms and I'm going to sought myself out for the next spawn.. How long will it be untill they are ready to mate again? Thanks everyone

Unlucky dude :/
I guess it's just practise makes perfect for the bettas

I think I need the right food! I just realised I put this in the wrong forum. Its supposed to be in fish breeding. Can a kind mod move it
Cheers

I'd wait at least two weeks, so you can properly condition them with good foods and such, to help them recover from their recent spawn. Hopefully it will go better next time, I guess this was just the hard way to learn to be prepared, eh? :/

I know it sucks, So I've sent off for some microworms. The dad is distraught he keeps on trying to find them to round them up again. Poor boy. :(

Hi DrOizo :)

I'm sorry to learn of your bad luck. :-( But the fry are tiny and feeding them is difficult unless you are prepared. The next time you will be and I'm sure you'll do better with them.

In the meanwhile, take good care of the parents. Feed them live or frozen foods to build them up and make them strong and healthy for the next time. They are your biggest concern now.

Good luck the next time around.
