guys need to buy an algea cleaner - went to a local place n they charging £6 for a really small one, is this how much they go for or shall i shop around?
anyone know any decent places in the high wycombe region?

Completely depends on what the algae eater is. If it's a chinese algae eater, they suck and are about $2 in the US. Definitely pass on it.

Siamese algae eaters are excellent for algae control and are more expensive. It's more reasonable price for one of them, but you'll need to get someone from your side of the pond to give a good price point for them.

I find that mechanical algae cleaners are about $5 or a little more for the small magnet ones. The larger ones go for a bit more. If you are looking for a fish instead, an otocinclus is about the same price as a fancy guppy, whatever that is where you are.
