At this point, I am so over owning a fish tank so many things keep on popping up and I do not know what to do. First I found out that I have this brown algae growing on my plants and it will not go away for the life of me and now as I was cleaning the tank this weird green stuff started coming out of the sand as I was cleaning it. I have no idea what it is. I don’t know if I should be concerned about it or what I should do to even clean it. i’m at my wits end and I don’t know why I keep on having problems with my tank. I bought so many new things for algae and I put a timer on my lights I reduced feeding and everything and for some reason algae just keeps on coming in my tank. I need somebody to help me identify what this is and how in the world do I get rid of it?

Omfg. I had a suspicion that maybe algae is growing at the bottom and welp here it is. I don’t know how this even happened and I have no idea what to do. I really didn’t think being a fish keeper would be this hard…

Is the green stuff in the gravel cleaner tube coming out of the sand?
Is it solid or green liquid?

The picture in post #2, is that underneath the aquarium?

Is the aquarium on a glass table with a light under it?
If yes, put a piece of black card under the tank to stop the algae growing on the bottom.

Post a picture showing the entire aquarium on its stand.

--------------------

The black/ dark brown stuff on the leaves could be blue green algae (BGA) (Cyanobacter bacteria). If it lifts off in a film and smells musty mouldy then it's Cyanobacteria, which is a photosynthetic bacteria (bacteria that uses light to photosynthesise like plants do). It loves nutrients, low oxygen levels, red light and slow water movement. Cleaning the tank regularly, increasing water movement (not too much because it's a Betta tank) and physically removing the BGA usually gets rid of it. If it's still an issue, you can use something like
Ultralife Blue Green Slime Stain Remover
