Should I be worried about the amount of algae that now appears in my tank?

The tank's been set up for almost 4 weeks now, thanks to a first attempt at doing a cycle that went nowhere. I'm still a good week at least fom the cycle being finished, and had planned to stock some algae eaters, but it's becoming unsightly.

It's a lightly planted tank, and I have algae on the tank walls (which I scrape off), rocks, plants, bogwood...everywhere.

The tank is quite warm, 26 celsius, could this be the reason for the algae growth and is it worth colling it down while I have no fish?

What i would do would be to get 1 algea eater that always works for me and give him a couple of days. Before you get the fish you should find out what temperature the fish like and set it to that before putting them in.Do you clean you tank every week?

Don't worry about it. Let the tank cycle first and when that's completed you can get rid of it when you do the 80% w/c.
Regular mainanence will keep it under control and lower nitrates will stop it flourishing. I suspect they are very high right now.
Do NOT add any fish until the tank has cycled!
Hugs,
P.

I'm getting towards the end of a fishless cycle and have a tank covered in algae too - bright green stuff and dark brown stuff, waving about in fronds in the water. It does look unsightly !
