How many algae waffles should I drop in a 125 gallons tank with 5 corys, one maybe ( i never see him ) spotted Raphael , one siamese algae eater and 6 yoyo loaches plus a baby yoyo 2 inches long ?

I just removed all the plastic plants to clean the tank n found a lot of algae waffles debris all over the tank that wasn't visible bcause of the plants. I usually bcause of the size of the tank I drop 6 algae waffles for the bottom feeders which are also eaten by the other fish if they get to em bfore they reach the ground.

Anyhow how many should I drop in my 125 gallons tank ? N how often ?

Put less and less until there is nearly no debris left. You can skip a day between feeding.

But, quantity of food given is more related to the number of individual you feed than the water volume of the tank.

Reduce quantities until everything get eaten in a reasonable delay. This will help so much with your water quality.

Something like:
1: Monday: Sinking pellets
2: Tuesday: Frozen bloodworms
3: Wednesday: Blanched zucchini or cucumber
4: Thursday: Sinking pellets
5: Friday: Frozen brine shrimp
6: Saturday: Fasting.
Sunday: Trow a dice, and use the result to pick what to give with the schedule above.

After algae growing crazy in the tanks I followed an advice from somebody here that told me I can feed em every other day. Which is what I'd been doing but still algae keeps growing. I posted a couple of pics with algae in this post I also posted pics of the waffles leftover all over the tank.
I'm gonna do a 60 % water change n more cleaning tomorrow morning. I checked the ammonia n nitrites yesterday but both were zero, the reason for the testing was bcause a red platty was looking sick n a teenage yoyo loach n a tiny baby yoyo were not moving much so I thought the parameters were bad but they weren't but I'm still gonna clean the debris n change the water. The platty disappeared I'm sure it died the teenage yoyo is fine now but the baby yoyo isn't moving much.
Which makes me sad bcause that baby yoyo was born n survive in this tank without me knowing of it's existence until one day I saw it swimming behind mama.
So instead of 6 algae waffles how many u think I should drop in the tank ? I just check3d the fish n now I have 4 yoyo loaches plus the tiny baby, 2 brown corys n 4 albino corys I 3 inches siamese algae eater n the spotted Raphael cat fish which I dunno if it's still alive bcause it's nocturnal n hides all the time so I never see it.

Don't forget the cories, loaches and Raphael catfish are not algae eaters. They will eat algae wafers if that's all they are fed but they really need a 'meaty' food which contains fish /shrimp.

I will take care of that. Thanks.

Weird question though. I lost and platty yesterday n everytime a fish disappeared i assume it died but no body is ever found i never see the bodies. Do the other fishes eat em ?

Your filter is well established, that's why you don't see any ammonia or nitrite, but it is produced.

If the waffles are remaining uneaten, stop using them. No uses polluting the water because of it. Some food degrades rapidly and spoils the water.

Nearly all the fish you have are not really algae eaters, besides the SAE. They need some roughage, but their main food should include some high quality bottom feeder pellets like New Life Spectrum, Thera+A or Insectum sinking pellets

I started using the waffles after seeing the angels eating em bfore they reached out the bottom to be eaten by bottom feeders.

The other fish still take bites from the waffles but not as much as they eat the Sinking pellets.
I even started to feed the bottom feeders 30 mins after the lights went off so the bottom feeders at least have a chance to eat em

You seems to have a pretty controllable light ? For your algae problem, It will slow down as you take control on the nutrients in the water...

You can reduce the light intensity and lower the blue spectrum to help. Keep front glass clean and leave all the algae that grows on the side and back glass there.

With diligent feeding and water changes, black beard algae is reversible but it takes some time.. I took me 6 months reversing the growth and it took another 2-3 months before going away.

All this time trying to maintain the lowest nitrate level possible all along.

Thank you my friend
