So I have this problem. I bought some Hikari Algae wafers for my Royal plec. But my 5 angelfish seem to be more interested in it than the pleco. Atleast they get to it first and peck it apart before the pleco realizes there is food for it. :D So this means the angelfish pretty much eat most of the wafer before my royal gets a chance.

Any ideas? Maybe I can just keep my royal pleco on a diet of cucumber/wood/algae(from the tank).

Wait until you turn off the lights at night, around 15 to 30 minutes is good. After that drop the tabs in. Another trick is to feed the angels at one end of the tank all the time. Toss flakes in at their usual end, drop tabs in the other.

I will try the nighttime approach! The angels swim to me when I walk remotely near the tank. I could be 5ft away and they spot me and swim to that side of the tank. They have some GPS locator on me I think. :D
