Algae Shrimp

Hi All,

Do Shrimp Moult? I have found a shell from one of my shrimps at the bottom of my tank. I had four but the last day or two I could only three. Could this shell be a dead shrimp or is it a moulted shell. The detail is incredible. It looks exactly like a shrimp in every way just a bit see through.

Yep - when they molt it looks just like an empty shrimp. And they are masters at hiding - I hardly saw any of mine for the first few months. And at one stage thought I had two out of 10 left. But after a few months I still actually had all 10. So I wouldn't worry about it

Do I need to remove the old shell or just leave it?

I take mine out because no one eats it and it otherwise can take up to a week to decompose.
