algae problem

i seem to have brown algea on the glass in my tank i read that this means that brown algea means the tank is not balanced. i have balanced my aquarium out now and everrything is perfect! can i use a toothbrush to scrape the algae off the sides. i mean a new 1 not like 1 i will be using lol

What kinda of fish do you have in your tank. And you can buy in stores magintic algae scrapers thats what I use to clean off the front of my tank.
