Algae On Sand

please help how can i get the algae from off the sand ? the tank has been running since september it a 5ft tank all test same ok fish happy just algae look ugly

but Luke is right - vacuum the top layer off and give it a very good wash.
Sand should be "raked" on a weekly basis too (to prevent the sand compacting and gas pockets building up) unless you have some malaysian trumpet snails to keep the sand churned over.
