Hey everyone, seems like my tank's algae grows and grows more rapidly everyday. I have all kinds of algae on my LR, hair algae, bubble algae, some weed type plant, and some other weird algae that grows. I have a 10g, and 64w of compact fluorecent lighting; 32 daylight and 32 actintic. My lights are not on for longer than 8-9 hours; they are usually on only for like 4-6 hrs. I also have algae on my glass that I clean every weekend. What can I do to reduce this massive growth of algae besides pluck it off by hand? My cuc consists of:
11 snails -
2 astrea
4 cerith
1 trochus
4 nassarius
and 2 scarlet reef hermits.
Should I add more hermits or snails???

Probably snails, hermits will eat uneaten food and some detritus before they eat algae.

Well, what foods do you feed and have you or your LFS ever tested your water for phosphates?
