Hi gurus,

Please see this pic of problem algae in my tank. It's rapidly covering all the plants, even after I removed as much as possible (and all the plants it seemed particularly attracted to). It's black, hairy, coarse (tells bad jokes  ) and is getting everywhere!

My sucking loach is showing no interest in eating it - so it must taste real bad cos he eats everything!

All the usual tests are "usual" ie. nitrites, ates and ammonia. Doesn't seem to be bothering anything (plants or fishies) but me.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Ade

In one of my threads I was told that iron is the source of hairy algae...

If so, then you can get chemicals to remove it or try to add a crapload of plants to your tank.
