Hi

I have a Hong Kong Sucker / Borneo Butterfly who lives (literally) attached to the glass of my aquarium. However, he'll be moving to my new tank shortly, and was wondering what he'll do for food, as the new tank is spotlessly clean. He refuses to detatch himself from the glass, and won't swim over to anything, even algae wafers or cucumber that's right next to him. Will he eventually get up the courage and find food before it's too late?

The tank he's been in for the last 5 months sits between 22C to 24C, he's very active and constantly wiggling around on the glass, but he just won't detatch.

So what if it's a cold water fish? Doesn't change the fact that I have an issue about him moving to the new tank..

you have him in a heated tank and he is a coldwater fish?? could be the problem?

borneo suckers are fine between temps of 18C to 24C so that is in range, and even if it wasn't it wouldn't be a valid reason for why a plec was inactive. A more realistic reason could be due to the level of 'current' and therefore oxygen in the aquarium.

they need high 02 content and therefore shouldnt be in a heated tank of 22-24 degrees as this decreases oxygen alot!!
and also they need high currents.
