Algae Control Fish

i really wantes to get eather a group of ottos or a sae
which should i get? i really like the ottos but heard they will latch onto other fish

i've never heard of ottos latching on to other fish, they are generally very peaceful, the SAE would do well too, just be careful as to many LFS will sell you a CAE as an SAE, and these will go for the slime coat on the other fish

Hi again Flyhawk. I have otto's and love them. I have witnessed them trying to attach to other fish but if the fish are strong and quick swimming they generally don't have a chance to attach properly. I started with four but lost one The other three however are doing very well and with the Apple snails do a grand job in keeping the glass and leaves clean. I witnessed some serious getting jiggy with it the other day so I'm keeping a look out for eggs. Mind you otto's can play serious hide and seek with you, you think you've lost some and then they all appear again. Naughty Things

i really wanted ottos, and didnt want saes because
i have heard they can disturb spawning fish, and i have 2 spawning angels!!
so it sounds like otto is my fish
congrats little monkey, i hope you have a spawn!!!
sounds like you have an excellent tank!
also i had a dojo loach once that didnt come out for a week
talk about serious hide and seek!!!!!!!!
